Once back in the studio, Brian put our FCP/HD system to the test, filling drives with XDCAM-HD footage and off-lining in full-resolution HD. The results look stunning.
The client is thrilled. According to Thebaut “I really enjoying working with Brian Denny. He is so devoted about what he does. It is also wonderful to have my editor involved in the production, voice over and other aspects of the show. It just makes so much sense.”
Robert Masters was technical director for the project. After careful analysis of the situation, factoring in that there were several camera crews working around the country, the equipment availability, project workflow, budget and performance requirements - Robert suggested the use of Sony’s XDCAM-HD high-definition video system. The ability to work with a Blu-ray disc based format with undercranking, overcranking and timelapse made it the perfect solution for the job.

Running Dry - The American Southwest
Master Communication’s Brian Denny has put the final touches on our latest project for The Chronicles Group, “Running Dry; The American Southwest”, now airing on PBS stations across the United States.
In 2008, Denny, with writer/director/producer Jim Thebaut has been travelling around the American Southwest, videotaping in HD the plight of this nation’s driest region.
In addition to filming interviews and B-roll scenes, Denny also travelled to New Mexico to videotape the show’s host, actress and activist Jane Seymour.
